This June marks three years since completing and opening the Railway Garden. The garden has become a key local outdoor community space over the last three years and we are marking the occasion with a day of celebration.
Marnock Road will be closed for the day for an extended craft and food street market. We will have music, food, drink and many more activities for the whole family throughout the day:

Live Music Entertainment
- We’ll be rocking and rolling with The PINHEADS who join us again to perform from 11.00 am to 12.30pm. Join in to swing and sing to popular 60s, 70s and 80s songs!
- The incredibly talented SAM WILKINSON returns to the garden between 12.30 pm to 2.00 pm.
- Have a go at ARFICAN DRUMMING with MOHAMED GUEYE from 2.30 pm to 4.00 pm.
Activities for Children – All Free (these will be happening at different times throughout the day)
- Instrument-making
- The Big Bug Trail
- Growing your own micro-greens workshop
- Painting bug stones
- Story telling and sing-alongs
- Craft activities – Nature colouring, make your own that’s not my flower, bird feeder making
- Pressed flower art and card making
- Decorating our Maple tree with leaf-shaped pledges
Fundraising Stalls and Activities
- Our PIMMS stall will be serving ice-cold pimms.
- Our CAKE stall will have delicious cakes and bakes (many other yummy food and drink market stalls).
- Our PLANT stall will have a selection of outdoor and indoor plants.
- Beautiful EARRINGS by Zeina will also be on sale with funds raised going to the garden.
- There’ll be FACE-PAINTING by Carol and Anne Probert
- At 2.30pm to 4.00pm we have AFRICAN DRUMMING by Mohamed Gueye. Join a taster skills workshop and discover the therapeutic and fun art form! Drop in every 15 mins. £5 a go.
Street Market
Marnock Road will be closing to traffic for the day between 9am and 6pm for a bigger street market and street party. We have a great line up of food and craft /artisan stalls. Don’t miss out visiting them all!
