A list of our grant awards and other support and contributions

We are very grateful to all our supporters over the years for their monetary contributions as well as for their volunteered time. We could not have acheived any of the work done so far without this support. We are also forever thankful to all our visitors who have come along to our pop-up harvest market days and garden open days, whose generous donations has meant we've been able to maintain the garden.

2019

2019-06-01 - We are most grateful to Peter James estate agents for sponsoring our Grand Opening Celebration Event on the 1st of June 2019. Their support of community projects has always been impressive, and we are thankful they also chose to support the Railway Garden for this key milestone in the community garden's history.

2019-05-25 - We are delighted that local illustrator Nancy Ellis of HeavensToBetsy.co.uk was able to work with us to produce some artwork for our new garden. Her beautiful drawing captures the imagination and the essence of our community garden.

2019-05-20 - Thanks to a very generous donation by local resident Liz James and daughter Hannah Lewis our garden gets a beautiful second bench with the inscription Come to me ... and rest. The bench is a much welcomed addition following the completion of the landscape works. We hope many will come in to sit and rest while they enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the garden.

2019-05-15 - We are most grateful to community champion Jane Martin whose Crofton Park bags initiative raised money for local causes. Her generous donation has helped contribute towards a memorial bench for Chef Rudi from Longhorn American Italian diner here in Crofton Park who sadly passed away earlier this year. Rudi was an amazing community ambassador, always helping local initiatives. The bench is a fitting permanent tribute to his community contribution. We will all miss him and Longhorn.

2019-05-15 - We are most thankful to the Piscina family who have generously contributed towards the memorial bench for Rodolfo Piscina (1962-2019) who most of us got to know as 'Chef Rudi' from Longthorn. His memory also lives on with the kind donations of a beautiful red rose bush and Hydrangea (look out for them when you take a seat at the bench!), and the star jasmin and wisteria near the station building.

2019-04-19 - We must thank the wonderful team (Terry, Nick, Glen, Paul, Rose and Bruno) at Terry's All Locks (379 Brockley Road, SE4 2PH) who have been amazing, helping us with power during the clearance and landscaping works. They will also be our gate-keepers. Without them, we could not keep the garden open during the day!
