Community Market

2020 has certainly been unique! It was supposed to be the year of many community happenings at the Railway Garden, but alas, we’ve had to postpone many of our plans for this year. However, after much debate we decided to go ahead with our first ever community market as we came out of lockdown. With covid risk controls in place, the community markets took place on the first Saturday in August and September, on gloriously sunny days. These were a resounding success; it was heartening to see many come by to support local traders/stallholders after such a bleak time on the high street this year. We were also lucky to have Blue Room serving delicious Mexican street food. We had planned to hold another on the 3rd of October but unfortunately the unfolding covid situation meant we had decided it was best to cancel. Fingers crossed 2021 will bring a new beginning! We hope to resume the market days every first Saturday of the month as soon as we are able to. In the meantime, if you are (or know) an artisan/local trader, do complete our application form if interested in having a stall at the market. We will be in touch as soon as we resume in the new year.
