International Students Volunteer at the Railway Garden
We were really pleased to welcome international students on the Social Farms and Gardens Gardiniser course as well as a student from UCL researching the social-spatial practices of community gardens. It was amazing to hear about everyone’s community gardening journey and how similar the stories were, no matter the country! We can’t believe that this year marks a decade in the history of our community garden! The top end of the garden was cleared of all the fly-tipping back in 2012 and a small growing space was established. It was managed by volunteers till 2019 when a complete re-landscaping created the pocket community open space it is today, for all to enjoy.
